IP69k - Highest protection class

Their completely sealed construction without external fan or ventilation slots put noax industrial PCs with IP65 (NEMA 4) certification in front of the competition from the beginning. noax industrial PCs are always fully dustproof and can resist jets of high-pressure water from any angle. These features helped noax IPCs achieve the IP65 (NEMA 4) certification. And because noax hardware also functions impeccably when intermittently submerged in water, the IP67 (NEMA 6) protection class certification was logically the next step. Still, in order to guarantee the stability of its products, noax contracted an independent institute to perform tests in specific environments. The result: The industrial PC from noax passed all of the stress tests with flying colors. noax industrial and Medical PCs are now certified with the highest protection class, IP69k. This means that noax IPCs now fulfill all of the hygiene requirements of the food processing and medical industries.

The conditions for this IP code, and thus for the testing conditions, are defined by the DIN standards DIN EN 60529 and DIN 40,050 Part 9. First the IPC's sealed construction was tested in a dust chamber. The test involved placing a PC housing in a chamber with 20 mbar of negative pressure and then subjecting it to a controlled storm of fine dust. The noax industrial PC passed with flying colors. The second digit in the IP code relates to water resistance. To test the impermeability of the unit it was submerged in one meter of water. No negative effects of any kind were registered on the operational integrity of the noax industrial PC. The IPC was then subjected to the conditions prevalent in a high-pressure steam cleaning facility. The IPC was placed on a rotating table and sprayed with 80 degree celsius water. About 14 to 16 liters of water per minute were sprayed directly at the computer at pressures of 100 bar from a flat fan nozzle. Every 30 seconds the angle of the jet was changed so the IPC was sprayed from all sides. The distance from the nozzle to the computer was between 10 and 15 cm.

The noax industrial PC mastered all of the tests without any difficulties. The extreme conditions of the IP67 (NEMA 6) and IP69k certifications are an impressive testimony to the operational reliability of noax industrial PCs. noax customers can therefore depend on the fact that their industrial PCs will function without interruption even in the harshest of environments.
