New noax product line built specially for medical applications

Completely sealed, easily disinfected – noax Medical PCs make diagnosis and therapy simple

noax Technologies has developed a new product line that is specially designed for use in the medical sector. Effective immediately, the nMed Medical PC line is available in both 15" and 19" versions. The housing is made of stainless steel and the unit is completely sealed, watertight and conforms to IP69k protection class standards. In addition, the Medical PC housing contains no grooves or scoring and can therefore be quickly and easily cleaned to guarantee flawless hygiene. The new product line is certified to DIN standards DIN EN 60601-1 and DIN EN 60601-1-2, making it permissible for use in patient areas. Like all noax industry computers, nMed series Medical PCs impress with integrated, resistive touch panels that can easily be used with gloves. This greatly simplifies the entry and query of patient data, and gives doctors more time with their patients. A selection of interfaces and mounting options make it easy to integrate nMed Medical PCs into existing infrastructure.

The right information can save lives. This makes it increasingly important for doctors and medical personnel to have all of the necessary patient data within reach. To provide this information more quickly and more easily, noax has developed the nMed line of PCs that meet the lofty demands of products that are used in medical application areas. Most importantly this means a completely smooth housing surface without grooves, scoring or sharp edges.

Completely sealed – fast and easy to clean

Medical PCs from the nMed line feature a hygienic design, are completely sealed and conform to protection class IP69k. They guarantee the highest level of protection against dirt and fluids, especially water. More specifically, this means that noax Medical PCs can withstand water up to 80° C and pressure up to to 100 bar without water or other fluids making their way into the PCs interior and destroying sensitive electronics. This is prevented by special seals tested and authorised by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) of the United States of America. The housing as well as the touch screen are resistant to most chemicals and can be easily and fully disinfected. Unlike conventional computers, noax Medical PCs are built with components designed for use in medical devices. One example is the medical power supply unit. Contrary to standard power supplies, the noax model has its own filter with a low ground leakage current (0,5 mA). This and other safety features for patients are supported by the DIN EN 60601-1 and DIN EN 60601-1-2 certifications.

Easy integration

Hospitals in particular will profit from the use of noax high-end hardware for medical applications, in the OR, in clean rooms or in the provision of sterile goods. The selection of interfaces such as Ethernet, USB and DVI (among others) makes it easy to connect external devices and integrate existing hospital information systems (HIS). This allows for quick and easy viewing of data from picture archiving and communications systems (PACS). Standard mounts, for example based on the VESA standard, support smooth integration into existing infrastructure. This makes noax Medical PCs extremely flexible in terms of set-up options.

Faster access to data

These robust medical computers offer much more than just the ability to display different media. Doctors can immediately edit, save and forward important information such as reports or patient records. On top of that noax Medical PCs are just easy to use. With the help of the touch screen all you have to do is tap the screen to get all the information you need. Because all relevant patient information is immediately accessible, doctors have more time to do their real job: diagnosing and treating illnesses. nMed Medical PCs support doctors and medical personnel in helping others.
