IPC Heating: Stability in Extended Temperature Range
Thanks to this sophisticated and intelligent heating
system, noax industrial PCs can be used without any problem
in the extended temperature range, up to minus 20 deg.
Celsius. The high-power, energy-efficient heating system
allows the industrial PC to reach operating temperature and
start in only 5 minutes. This means that there is nothing to
prevent its utilization in the outdoor and deep-freezing
areas.
Electronically-controlled, permanently-monitored heating
system brings maximum stability to IPCs
The heating system is electronically-controlled and
monitored and can be configured individually. A temperature
sensor inside the industrial PC monitors the outside
temperature continuously and compares the results against
the interior temperature. When temperature parameters fall
to a critical level, the heating system turns on
automatically and heats up the IPC to the required
operating temperature. Once this is reached, the heating
system turns itself off again automatically. This process
is repeated if necessary. This „intelligent system“
prevents the IPC from being operated at temperatures that
are either too low or too high., thus excluding the risk of
the sensitive electronics components being destroyed or
their lifecycle considerably shortened. As an example, the
product life of a display can be shortened by up to 5 per
cent just by turning it on once at temperatures below the
component specification (normally below 0 deg.Celsius.
Heating control and continuous monitoring with noax
Micro-Controller Unit (MCU Setup)
One single software tool, the noax Micro-Controller Unit
(MCU Setup), which already controls things like fan speed
or IPC backlight, can be used to individually configure and
monitor a variety of different heating system parameters.
For example, the user can choose between the autostart
function and the manual start. Or he can deactivate the
heating system completely, e.g. in order to save battery
power during the summer months. Critical operating states
are displayed, too, and the noax industrial P'C is shut
down in a controlled manner. These processes are
accompanied by clear optical and acoustic signals from the
display elements of the foil keyboard. The
user-friendliness of noax industrial PCs can be most
clearly seen from the high acceptance amongst users.
Heating system retrofit possible for all noax 8" industrial
PCs
All noax industrial PCs series Compact C8 and Panel P8
currently in use can be retrofitted with the new heating
system by noax Service personnel without any problem.
