N7 - the Core of noax 8" Industrial PCs C8 and P8. The noax All-In-One board N7 makes it possible for small, completely sealed, full-blown industrial PCs to be put to multi-purpose use in extreme production areas. The N7 board is presently among the most powerful all-in-one PC platforms for mobile and stationary use of IPCs under 10 inch. The complete board unit consists of one double-layer motherboard and one single-layer add-on board. This combination is currently almost the maximum for this compact board design with dimensions of only 135x180x35mm (LxWxH).

The N7 is equipped with an Intel Celeron processor with a clock frequency of 400MHz and an Intel 815E chip set. The noax board also takes growing demands on the hardware into account: The memory can be upgraded with PC100 modules up to 512MB. Another standard on-board is the integrated Intel Extreme Graphics controller with 3D and DVD support. Customary 2.5 inch industrial hard disks are connected via an ATA100 interface. The pre-finished board is factory-equipped with a touch panel controller and micro-controller unit with sound available as an option. In addition, the compact N7 possesses many standard on-board interfaces such as 2xRS232, 2xUSB, Intel Ethernet network controller (RJ45) and PS/2.

With the combination of motherboard and daughterboard, the N7 achieves a tremendous expandability, despite its compact design. LowProfile PCI, PC/104+ and Mini PCI are available, with a choice between LowProfile PCI and PC104+. With the popular LowProfile PCI cards, there is a possiblity to quickly and easily upgrade additional interfaces like RS422/485 or opto-decoupled interfaces, PC card slots or Digital I/O, without much effort. Another low-cost memory add-on solution are Compact-Flash cards which can be inserted directly onto the board.
