The C8 Industrial PC, with its light-weight, extremely hard-wearing aluminum enclosure, was specially developed by noax for mobile operation under extreme conditions. The daylight-capable, 8.4" TFT display with integrated touch panel and automatic brightness control opens up a great variety of possible uses plus extremely simple operation. Its sophisticated technology permits fast and easy integration of various peripheral devices. Due to its very compact design with dimensions of only 232 x 185 x 99 cubic mm (L/W/H) and its manifold installation options, this completely sealed IPC can be mounted on or inside nearly every carrier vehicle. This makes the C8 an ideal vehicle terminal for forklift trucks, order picking vehicles or construction machinery.
The rugged and compact design of the C8 industrial
computer, its completely sealed enclosure concept, the
standard use of heavy-duty connector locks plus the
decision to do without failure-prone components, all serve
to protect the industrial computer against extreme
mechanical stresses and environmental factors such as
vibration, shock, dust or wetness. As an option,
particularly shock and vibration-resistant solid-state
disks can be fitted. This makes the small 8" IPC ideal for
use as a vehicle terminal, e.g. in forklift trucks, order
picking lifts or special-purpose vehicles. Suitable DC/DC
converters are used to allow for diverse power supply
conditions.
Despite its compact, enclosed design, the C8 provides high
performance, compatibility, and expandability. The
noax-designed N7 motherboard, utilization of Intel Celeron
400 MHz processors, comprehensive configuration with
on-board interfaces and Ethernet card plus its many
expansion options like PC/104+, low-profile PCI, or PC card
slot (PCMCIA), permit the integration of various peripheral
devices, e.g. transponders, chipcard readers, or barcode
scanners. In addition, the C8 can be smoothly integrated
into a Wireless LAN network by using the optional WLAN
card.
The noax Micro-Controller which is standard equipment for all noax industrial PCs automatically executes numerous monitoring, controlling, and statistical tasks such as temperature control, backlight control, or counting operating hours. The controller can be adapted to individual customer demands. noax additionally use a proprietary touch controller for automatic panel control and readjustment. Another service option noax provide is the configuration of any IPC according to specific customer requirements to supply a ready-to-use installation. All you need to do is turn it on!
