Why does the Display get Dim after 20 Minutes under
Windows2000 / XP ?
Error Description
Under Windows 2000 and Windows XP, the display gets dim
after 20 minutes and cannot be reactivated with the
touchscreen. Depending on whether or not the keyboard can
be connected subsequently, (refer FAQ on
keyboard
), it may not be possible to
reactivate the display.
Cause and Correction
This error occurs because under Windows 2000 and Windows XP,
a monitor turn-off time of 20 minutes is defined for each
newly
created user. This monitor turn-off by the
Windows power management also deactivates the touchscreen.
This setting has been predefined by Microsoft and cannot be
modified in advance.
It is, therefore, necessary for
every newly-created user
under Windows 2000 and XP to set the monitor turn-off time
in system control under "energy options" to "never".
Please remember that the user also possesses the rights
necessary to change the energy options!
noax utilize the integrated micro controller to either dim
or turn off the display after a certain time. These
settings can be adjusted with the help of suitable tools
from the
download area
.
