Mobile Industrial Computer: Competely Enclosed – NEMA4

The C8 Industrial Computer, with its light, extremely robust aluminum casing, was specially designed by noax for mobile use under extreme conditions. The daylight-capable 8.4" TFT display with its integrated touch panel and automatic brightness control opens up a wide range of applications combined with extremely easy opation. Its sophisticated technology permits the integration of various peripheral devices. Due to its extremely compact design with dimensions of only 232 x 185 x 99 mm and its many installation options, this completely enclosed IPC can be mounted on or inside almost any carrier vehicle. This makes the C8 computer an ideal mobile terminal for forklift trucks, order picking vehicles, or construction machinery.

Predefined Basic Units

Control Panel

The following operations can be executed from the front control panel:

• Switching the IPC on and off
• Switching the backlight on and off
• Controlling the backlight
• Activate a special feature (e.g. showing a virtual keboard)

All keys can be conveniently activated or deactivated via software. The control panel has some LEDs for status display next to the keys plus a brightness sensor which adjusts the backlight to accommodate ambient brightness.

Connectors

The Compact C8 connectors are located on the underside. Connector covers can be supplied for additional protection. The basic unit is equipped with the following connectors:

• RJ45 network connector 10/100MB
• two RS232 ports via standard 9-pin DSUB
• CRT via standard 15-pin HD-SUB
• two USB V1.1 ports

Attention: C8 is used mainly in logistics with different voltage supply sources. For this reason, the external power supply is not included in the C8 basic unit. Please order a power supply or DC/DC converter separately!

Add-ons for C8

The basic version of the noax Compact C8 industrial PC comes with a mini-PCI slot as well as a CompactFlash socket.

If further add-ons are required, it is possible to install an additional PC104+ (without ISA) slot or a low-profile PCI slot (but not both of these together!). Standard PC cards can be fitted, too, by using a special PC card adapter for the low-profile PCI slot.

The PC card adapter requires the low-profile PCI slot (11978)!
